Care Instructions

Storing

  • To extend shelf life, do not store in bathroom
    • Fluctuating temperatures in between showering can cause body butter texture to change, and can also lessen shelf life of formulation.
  • Apply with dry hands, or use scoop/spatula to get product out of jar
    • Introducing moisture to the body butters can lessen shelf life and cause the butters to go bad quickly
  • Keep out of direct sunlight and high heat
    • High heat will cause the butters to melt and may alter texture; while direct sunlight may lessen shelf life and cause some of the essential/fragrance oils to not be as strong
  • If your body butters melt (whether due to shipping or high temperatures) allow to sit in room temperature or place in fridge to set. This wont change effectiveness of body butters.

Using/Applying

  • Always patch test
    • Though we list all ingredients, everyone’s skin reacts differently. These body butters include essential oils and/or fragrance oils. Always check the ingredients to see if you may be allergic to something and do a small patch test to ensure skin wont be irritated
  • It is best to apply after showering on damp skin
    • Many of the properties in these butters seal moisture in your skin, so making sure your skin is hydrated first will present best results
  • Read properties and description of each butter to determine which may be best. When in doubt, samples are available.
  • A little goes a long way
    • Apply small amounts at a time. Most of the butters will not leave a greasy residue (unless formulated for extremely dry skin), but applying too much will cause a greasy/sticky residue. If this happens, use a try towel paper towel to wipe away excess.
